I'm thinking about Long Creek, Tor Hill, Flowing Springs or Green Acres. **For Sunday July 23 I was hoping to get some input as to where to play. Not much to say about that one as I think we were both suffering from a little heat exhaustion but I think I could have done another 9 if someone had twisted my rubber arm.Īgain, if you have the opportunity please play this course as it offers a lot of challenges and is in excellent condition. The second round I shot a 92 and Mike a 93 so it was a typical round for the two of us. The other shot I need to mention is a putt I had on #15 where the ball went around the entire lip of the cup and ended up rolling back 6 inches in the opposite direction that I had hit it from. Mike ended up shooting 100 on the opening round but as I said recovered nicely on the back 9 and considering he used 18 strokes on the opening two holes it was respectable. A feat that should not be over-looked as Tiger hits about 54%.I LOVE MY DRIVER! Other focal points included me flirting with breaking into the 80's on the opening 18, however I came up a little short shooting a 90 on the ustrating but at the same time exciting. There were a lot of highlights of the day but a couple of them were that Mike and I hit approximately 80% of the fairways from the whites. We played 36 holes of golf on this day and returned home around the 5-5:30 mark. The course, on a scale of 1-10, gets a 9 from me and rates just below Katepwa Point that we played a couple of months ago The other great thing is that Mike and I have a quick pace to our games and the course Marshall was very good at letting us pass slower groups. Your ball doesn't get much roll on the fairways but that is contrasted against the ability to launch your approach shot to the green and know that you can stop it quickly. That's not a bad thing as it shows just how much attention the greens keepers put into it. The course is in spectacular condition and is very slow. I ended up shooting a 6 on this hole but Mike had a bit of a shakey start but managed to right the ship on the back 9. Needless to say it is a formidable way to start off the match. Yes.600 yards! Keep in mind that as you approach the green the elevation begins to increase until finally you're at the top some 50-60 feet above where you first started. This is a shot taken from the white tees looking towards the flag on number 1, some 600 yards away. First I'll draw your attention to the top photo. This is one of my favorite courses as well as Mike's and it did not disappoint. Tee time was 9:00am and I was really looking forward to getting back to Flowing. So as you've probably already guessed Mike and I took advantage of this bargain. On Fridays you get unlimited rounds of golf, a power cart and a meal all for the cost of $45 per player. For those of you that haven't heard about this deal at Flowing Springs I'll run down the particulars for you. Well, well, well golf fans what a spectacular deal and day for golf.
